FIBA 2010 World Basketball Championship was officially inaugurated with a spectacular ceremony in Istanbul on Friday.
Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin, State Minister Faruk Nafiz Ozak, FIBA President Bob Elphinston and thousands of audience attended the ceremony held at the Sinan Erdem Sports Hall.
2010 World Basketball Championship will take start with the first games to be played on Saturday.
The championship will take place in four Turkish cities -Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Kayseri.
