A group of Cuban artists, including legendary show woman Juana Bacallao, will perform along with Spanish singer Moncho and pianist Javier Galiana in the Second Varadero Rum Bolero Festival of Barcelona, according to organizers.
The program June 5-15 also includes Cuban artists Jose Luis Cortes “El Tosco”, Jose Luis Quintana “Changuito”, Migdalia Hecheverria and Ludmila Merceron.
The Jazz group Tomate, Trio y Cebolla, conducted by Javier Galiana, will present a production based on the music of Cuban Bola de Nieve, reported director of the festival, Josep Pons.
Bacallao, 90, will open the show with her compatriots on June 5-6 at the Jamboree Jazz Club of Barcelona.
Changuito will offer a recital to pay tribute to late Cuban maestro Juan Formell, the creator and director of famous Cuban big band salsa orchestra Los Van Van, who died last month.
Moncho, known in Spain as The King of Bolero, will close the festival.
