Mauritius Tourism Industry Contributed

Mauritius tourism industry contributed an estimated 10.1 percent to gross domestic product last year, down from 11.8 percent in 2008, the statistics office said.

The government is aiming to attract 2 million tourists to the Indian Ocean island nation by 2015 and the industry is expected to grow 15 percent annually in “coming years,” the Central Statistics Office, based in Port Louis, said in a report on its Web site today.
