Turkey’s Vakifbank Gunes Sigorta Turk Telekom defeated Rabita Baku of Azerbaijan 3-0 in the final in Istanbul on Sunday and became the champions of CEV Champions League Women 2011.
The girls of Vakifbank Gunes Sigorta Turk Telekom completed a memorable weekend to turn into Turkey’s first club in history being able to claim the CEV Champions League. It was an almost one-sided final game (3:0, 25-13, 25-20, 25-18) and left no chance at all to the Azeri glories of Rabita Baku.
Turkey’s Fenerbahce Acibadem also defeated Italy’s Scavolini Pesaro in CEV Champions League and won bronze medal.
